Burmese Air Chief invited to international seminar
February 1, 2007: The Indian Air Force has invited air force chiefs of 37 nations, including Myanmar's Commander-in-Chief (Air) Lt-Gen Myat Hein to participate in a two-day international seminar in New Delhi, as part of its platinum jubilee celebrations.
The seminar, "Aerospace power in tomorrow's world" will be held from February 4 to 6. It will deliberate on aerospace power, transformation of airpower-translating technology into doctrine and strategy and joint operations-integrating aerospace, an official in the Indian Defence Ministry said.
The US, UAE, Oman, Britain, China, Israel, Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, and Vietnam will participate in the seminar, the officials said.
The purpose of the seminar is to work for international peace and security and after the seminar air force chiefs will also attend 'Aero-India 07', the biennial aerospace and defence exhibition in the southern Indian city of Bangalore, the official said.
