Four bomb blasts at Moreh, Myanmarese killed by AR

Moreh town was rocked by a series of explosions on Sunday noon near the Moreh gate no. 4. Loud sounds of explosions were heard by the residents during a half an hour period.

Imphal: Moreh town was rocked by a series of explosions on Sunday noon near the Moreh gate no. 4. Loud sounds of explosions were heard by the residents during a half an hour period.

The bombs exploded at around 12, 12.05 pm, 12.20 pm and 12.37, reports said adding that the Assam Rifles had exploded them all. Why the bombs were exploded could not be immediately known.

Meanwhile, a youth suspected to be a cadre of an underground group was killed in an encounter with troops of 24 Assam Rifles near the Indo-Myanmar international border fencing at Moreh at around 5 pm on Saturday.

Police said that the dead body of the youth along with one pistol having two live rounds in it was handed over to the Moreh police station late last night.

Later, the identity of the dead body was established as that of one Yamkholun Guite, 34, son of Samthong Guite of Khampat of Myanmar.
