July 14, 2007: (The Times of India) Imphal, Myanmar authorities have handed over two Indian nationals, who had been detained for some months in the neighbouring country, to Moreh police station in Manipur's Chandel district, official sources said on Saturday.

After prolonged negotiation with Myanmar authorities posted at border area, the two villagers were handed over to sub-divisional police officer of the border town police station at Moreh, about 120 from Imphal on Saturday, they said.

Myanmar police had arrested Mosun Maring (30) and Kingson Maring (32), hailing from Chandel district, in April last for entering the country without valid documents, they said.

The two Manipuris were arrested when they visited Mangsa border village in Myanmar to watch 'Poi'festival in that village, they added.
