In Promoting National Reconciliation and Democracy In Buma

The Indian parliamentary Forum for Democracy in
Burma, the ASIAN Inter
parliamentary Myanmar Caucus, and the Members of pro-democracy movement
activates and political academics from
India, and democracy and ethic
representative from, declare the fallowing statement.


Welcoming the first of even meeting betweens parliamentary bodies form
the enamoring countries of the
Burma to discuss important issue regarding
lack of  the democratic progress in the
Burma. It is implication to the
neighboring countries.


Recognizing that the peaceful and democratic change in
Burma is
essential to sustained peace and prosperity in the region as democracy
Burma.
Historically is always a true asset to regional stability.


Noting with serous concerns that the political and economic situation
in
Burma have profound implications to peace and security in the region
through Non-Violence traditional security threats such as during  menace
refugee outflows illegal  Immigration human trafficking.


Further noting that aggressive pursuit of 
Burma precious resources
including Natural Gas, Teak and minerals followed by  forceful
diplomacy to secure the access and passageway of exploration, production and
transportation of these resources are leading to a potentially
explosive regional competition for scarce and strategic resources.
Recalling the courageous role of  Noble Peace Laureate  Daw Aung San
Suu Kyi in championing  Nov-Violent struggle for peaceful  change in the
country and her continuing detention deprives the only hope for reconciliation
and peace and
Burma.

 

Appreciating recent initiative made by the National  League for Democracy
(NLD) in offering a fair and realistic proposal for convening  the parliament that could work hand in hand with state peace and development Council ( SPDC)  in agreeing and implementing various transitions agreement  reaffirming the commitments of South Asian and South East Asian communities to the promote caring by societies by addressing obstacles in Burma.


Which impede the large goal of the region  and their relation with the rest
of the International community.


Hereby the  participant of the conference call upon the parliaments of
India and the  ASEAN Review the existing cooperation between the respective Government and (SPDC) particularly in the area of trade and investment cooperation by the checking the impact of such cooperation on the livelihood of civilians
populations sustainable development of Natural resources and marginalization  of
the fundamental reform in Burma.

 

Urge their respective  governments in two  region  while reassuring National
sovereignty integrity of Burmese borders to utilize every avenue of  diplomatic channels in insisting the SPDC to release  Daw Aung San Suu Kyi
from house arrest and to begin the reconciliation process at home.


Recommend their respective government to explore any regional
mechanisms such as ASEAN plus two (ASEAN) china, India regional forum ASEAN 
dialogue partners BISMETEC  plus in mobilizing regional efforts in the promoting
peaceful  change in Burma and perhaps by asking the ASEAN government to
begin such initiative by no later than the upcoming meeting of foreign
Ministers.


Support effort of the United Nations in undertaking its effort human
right promotion refugees protections and humanitarian engagements while
renewing its initiatives on mediating the process of reconciliation and
reconstruction in
Burma:


Take the initiative as front lines states neighboring
Burma to hold a special inter parliamentary conference for National reconciliation and democratic restoration in Burma  around the world.
